Inaugural Website Post

Welcome to my new site! I can’t believe that after years of hemming and hawing and thinking and planning and dragging my feet, I have finally put together (with considerable help from a brilliant friend) my own website. It’s a little all over the place (just like me) but it’s fun and pretty and quite informative (also just like me). So let me show you around……..

First, there is now a real “About” page. Anything and everything you’ve ever wanted to know about me (well, maybe not everything) is on here. Where I came from, how I got interested in the things I do and where I am going. I think it’s a good introduction to me and my mayhem and foolishness.

The next three pages I call my “Jackie of All Trades” pages. There is one for my work in social media, one for my work in event planning, and one for my personal shopping/styling services. They list my past experience and the services I offer. I know…… I too wonder what social media, event planning and personal shopping have to do with each other. I don’t know either people, it’s just the hand of craziness I was dealt……..

Next, is this random page called Thank You. I fully admit that nothing I do or have done in my life is at all attributed to just me. I have had the love and support of family, friends, coworkers, bosses, even ex boyfriends, that have helped push me, encourage me and shape me. It would be a disservice to them to try and pretend that it’s all me. So this page is dedicated to listing those who have helped me grow. If nothing else, when I win an Oscar/Tony/Grammy/Social Media Award, I can have my list of people to thank at my fingertips!

Last (and probably most important) the “Track Me Down” page. Most people have a contact page which is nice and classy and normal. Not me – I don’t really do anything normally. On this page, I have listed the million and one ways you can find me online. No, I’m not giving my address (unless you ask for it to send me flowers) or my phone number. However there will be links to every place I loiter online. As I take up new hobbies/sites online (and you KNOW I will) I will add links here. Don’t worry, I’ll include my email address for those who want to contact me in a normal manner.

The last change will be this blog. I will of course continue blogging about fashion and plus size fashion and body image, I will also being doing posts here and there about social media and event planning and different Austin happenings. Have no fear- they will be neatly categorized so if you don’t want to read about something, you can just stick to one category of posts. See? I always have your well-being in mind.

Also, for the time being, my old posts will remain on Tumblr. Sadly Tumblr has no fool-proof way to export all of my posts to WordPress. There are a few workarounds, but they are not guaranteed and frankly, I am not risking losing over 2 years worth of writing to move it over here. So my blog archives will remain on Tumblr and I will continue to post images and links over there. What can I say, I have a fondness for the crazy Tumblr community!

So that’s it! Feel free to give me feedback. Do you love it/hate it/want to know more/less? The nice thing about this site is that it’s pretty much a work in progress. However, I do feel like I’ve taken a step up in my professional life as a personal shopper/social media strategist/event planner. I really need a title……..
