Over the past couple of months, I’ve mentioned a depressive state I’ve been experiencing. It started around the beginning of August and got really bad really quickly. I would have good days here and there, but mostly it was just feeling bad. There were some weeks of not going anywhere, there were some dark days of never wanting to leave my bed again. I’m very happy to say that I am finally on an upswing! Over the last week and a half, I’ve noticed a big shift in my mood and my energy level. I’m sleeping like a normal human, getting out and doing things, and even getting dressed! Let’s talk about that last one, shall we?
One of my favorite things to do with my honey is karaoke. He and his friend Lizzy do Lizzy Caroloke around town, and last week they started a new monthly gig at Rio Rita. After months of skipping out, I was finally ready to make my return! And I definitely dressed for the occasion!
My Karaoke Outfit!
Tunic – Ashley Nell Tipton for JCPenney (no longer available) | Leggings – Ava& Viv, Target | Shoes – Vans via Nordstrom (SO OLD) | Signage – Rio Rita!
Ummmm this tunic is EVERYTHING y’all! I got it at the beginning of the summer when the last of the collection was on sale, and I’m so glad I snagged one. It is a little longer than I expected, but I am so in love with the way it looks. I’m going to try wearing it with this cute rose collar pin I have and buttoning it all the way up. I can already think of so many ways to style this tunic, so expect to see it on here again really soon!
I’ve been working hard to find a replacement for my gray slip ons. These Vans are at least 3 years old, and are perforated leather. Vans doesn’t make them anymore, and I can’t seem to find something that I love as much. However, the search will continue!!
Face – Maybelline BB Cream, Target | Powder – MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural, MAC | Bronzer – Pixi by Petra Summertime, Target | Blush – ELF Cosmetics (similar) | Brows – Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer, Sephora | Lipstick – NYX Super Cliquey Matte Lipstick in Obvs, NYX
I’ve been really happy with my skin lately (knock on wood), so I’ve cut back on some face stuff. I’ve switched from my heavy, matte foundation to a BB cream, and have decided to forgo the majority of my concealer. I still use it occasionally under the eyes, but I don’t do the full highlight. I’ve also gone back to my favorite sun-kissed bronzer instead of my heavier contouring powder. But I’ll never give up my statement brows and lips!!
