Plus Size Outfit – Modcloth Chinese Zodiac Dress

I have a confession; I’ve had this dress for quite a while…… and I’ve never photographed it! I got it around Thanksgiving 2016, and I’ve worn it numerous time, but never taken a picture of it. I don’t know why; every time I wear it, I get tons of compliments. It’s just so stinking cute!

Dress – Modcloth (sold out, but check out their plus size dress selection) | Shoes – Aldo (old, similar)

Earrings – Stella and Dot (last year, similar) | Lipstick – NYX Full Throttle Lipstick in Locked

This was the first item I bought at the new Modcloth store here in Austin (I wrote about my trip to the inaugural pop-up store here) and it has so many happy memories. First of all, it’s incredibly size inclusive. The entire store (with the exception of a few one-off and vintage pieces) comes in XS-4X. So there is something for women of the majority of sizes to try on. The store is set up like Bonobos; everything there is for trying on only. Once you find what you like, you place your order to be shipped to you. Both times I bought stuff at Modcloth, it arrived in about 3 business days. It’s amazing!

Second, it’s a really happy place to be. Everyone who works there is incredibly sweet and friendly, and they are genuinely interested in helping you. There’s a feeling of sisterhood (to borrow Nicole’s favorite word) when you shop in the store. Strangers tell you how great you look, and everyone is just having a great time and enjoying the atmosphere and the awesome clothes. What could be better?

Who wants to make a shopping date to go to Modcloth with me?

Sadly, this dress is no longer in stock. I can’t say I’m surprised; it’s cute and comfy and so much fun to wear…… and IT HAS POCKETS! But please don’t let that stop you from checking out their dresses. They have such a great selection of fun pieces in a great variety of sizes.

In an effort to step up my blogging game, my incredibly amazing husband has started talking outfit pictures for me! After the first round, I have come to find out that I am not a natural poser AT ALL. And I tilt my head back and look angry in pretty much every picture. So bear with me as I find my inner Gigi Hadid/Ashley Graham/Nadia Aboulhosn (my three favorite models) and get more comfortable in front of the camera!
