Plus Size Outfit Post – All Black Christmas and No Nonsense Review

Christmas is always a big deal in my family. Every year, we go to Mass together on Christmas Eve, then return to my grandparent’s house to say the rosary (we’re good Catholics) and eat tamales (we’re also good Mexicans) and open gifts. It’s a special tradition that we’ve be doing for my entire life, and I can’t image spending Christmas Eve any other way!

For today’s plus size outfit post and review, I want to share my ridiculously awesome and chic Christmas look! We’re getting ready to move (on New Year’s Eve!) and I’ve been consumed with that and work. So I totally forgot to figure out what to wear. I decided the easiest way to go was All Black Everything. Armed with my favorite LBD and some No Nonsense Tights, I put together a classic and timeless look that wouldn’t embarrass Grandma at church!

Shout out to my sister’s almost – step daughter Adrienne for taking my outfit picture!! I felt super classy and chic in my all-black-with-red-lips ensemble, but still totally church appropriate. In hindsight, I wish I had worn a darker red lip color since my nails are dark, but style sacrifices must be made to appease Grandma.

Adri did such a great job getting all my good angles!!

Turns out I wasn’t the only one with the awesome ALL BLACK EVERYTHING idea. My sister Theresa and Adrienne both wore all black as well. What can I say? We’re a good looking bunch!

Now, let’s talk tights! No Nonsense was kind enough to offer me some leggings and tights to review. At first, I turned them down since they don’t do plus sizes, but they pointed out that they carry some of their products in XXL, so I figured I’d give it a go. The tights are awesome! They are super opaque and durable (though I did put a nail through one. My nails are hella sharp though.) and they fit really well. They have the XXL ones in a few colors, so I would definitely check them out.

They also sent me two pairs of leggings: a pair of steel-animal print leggings, and a pair of ponté leggings. The animal print ones fit great in the legs, though a bit large in the waist. they fit really well at the bottom of my leg though, and didn’t get baggy around the ankle, which I LOVE. The ponté leggings are way too small, but I think it’s because they sent an XL.

So, if you are in the middle of the plus size range (up to a size 22 I’d say) I’d definitely suggest giving the No Nonsense leggings and tights a try. They price point is great, and they look and feel awesome!
