I have a lot of random phrases that I use in my head to describe outfits that I wear or want to put together.I got the idea from Nicole’s workbook Feel Good, Dress Better, and it really helps me get the aesthetic I want. So when I threw this look together out of a new for black, warmth, and cuteness, I could only describe my final product as the elusive Preppy Chola!

Lip color – Nars Velvet Matte Crayon in Damned, Sephora |Spider brooch – Gift from BFF!!
First and foremost, please don’t read me for using the term Chola. I’m Mexican through and through, and have nothing but love for my chola sisters! I could never be magnificent enough to pull off the full chola look, so this is my way of paying homage.
I know the pictures aren’t great. I forced a friend into being my makeshift photag at night, outside, in the cold. Thanks, Sarah!! I am so freaking happy with how this outfit turned out. It was warm, which was absolutely needed on such a chilly night, but not fluffy. I hate when warmth requires feeling like a roly poly! I still think I would prefer this tunic just a smidge shorter, but I don’t mind the length. It definitely works well with leggings. I wore pants because it was cold, but I want to try this tunic with my faux leather leggings and boots! I generally don’t layer my tops because I hate calling attention to my midesection, but it’s 2018. Time to show it some love!
Okay, so now we have to talk about the brooch! My BFF gifted me that gorgeous thing for my birthday after we discussed our love of Riverdale. It’s no secret that I dig Cheryl Blossom and her mad style, so it only seems right to wear my spider brooch when I want to stand out. It’s also super light, so I don’t have to worry about it pulling on my sweater.
I need to start looking for some new sneakers, because all I want to wear are my velcro ones! They seriously work for any and all occasions.
