It’s been a minute since I’ve posted! Here’s what’s happening in my world……
I went on a real road trip! The husband and I drove from Austin to New Port Richey, FL to celebrate Thanksgiving with Adam’s mom, step-dad, and grandparents….. and it was AWESOME!! I got to meet his grandparents for the first time, and they were the sweetest. Plus, we got to go to Tarpon Springs, and Clearwater Beach, which was gorgeous. The weather was beautiful and I saw a real alligator. All in all, it was a fabulous trip, and I can’t wait to figure out where we’ll go next.
The beach where my mother-in-law got married earlier this year!! Dress – Forever 21 (similar)
Sassy birds at Clearwater Beach!
On a totally unrelated note, I’ve been doing a lot of shopping lately. Not a lot as in “let’s buy a bunch of crap I don’t need” but a lot as in “there are a lot of brands I want to try, and plus I only feel like wearing black/white/gray right now.” I labeled a few of the items in the pictures above; I believe in being comfy and cute while I travel! Here are a couple of purchases I’ve made that are quickly becoming wardrobe staples! (Sorry for the awful photography.)
Green Sweater Dress
Sweater Dress – Lovesick (only in red, almost sold out!)
Striped Tunic Dress
Striped Tunic Dress – Lovesick (olive only, almost sold out!)
I discovered Lovesick thanks to Kylie Jenner, and I really want to send her a thank you note! Kylie’s BFF is Jordyn Woods, who models for Lovesick and other awesome plus size lines. Because I saw Jordyn on Kylie’s Snapchat and Instagram so often (and LOVED her style) I started following her and the brands she works with. Lovesick totally fits my aesthetic; lots of neutrals, tunics and t-shirts, simple dresses, and fun, trendy pieces. I’ve purchased a few different dresses/tops from them, as well as some faux leather leggings, and everything has been really nice. I may or may not have just placed another order……. like right now……
What are you shopping for right now? I’m finished with my Christmas shopping (yay!!) so now I just need to focus on gift wrapping. Pray for me, y’all.
